Born in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India, on September 28, 1985, Mouni Roy is a well-known Indian actress who has made contributions to both cinema and television. Her father, Anil Roy, was a superintendent, and her grandfather, Shekhar Chandra Roy, was a well-known theatre performer. 

She comes from a family with a strong creative and political heritage. After completing her education at Baburhat, Cooch Behar's Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mouni went on to study English literature at the University of Delhi's Miranda House. 

She continued her mass communication studies at Jamia Millia Islamia University, but she quit before finishing the program to pursue a career in acting. 

Private Life:
Mouni is wed to Suraj Nambiar, a businessman from Dubai. On January 27, 2022, the couple exchanged vows in a ceremony that respected Malayali and Bengali customs.
